The Celts Aren’t Coming! (but there’s lots of other cool things happening) at the Robin Hood Springtime Festival (Time Sensitive)

A Highland invasion was rumored for the opening weekend of the Robin Hood Springtime festival, but alas, that is not to be.

Darn it! I love a man in a kilt (specifically my husband, but that’s another story..)

But despite the shortage of Celtic compeititions, there is plenty of other good stuff to be had this weekend at the faire. Sunday is the Robin and Marion Look Alike contest- dress like Robin Hood or Maid Marion and you might win. This weekend, Skarazula is  Castle Stage Music and it’s Open stage on Nottingham Ale Music. And there’s favorites like the Iron Hill Vagabonds, the Hopeless Romantics or Johnny Fox Sword Swallower to amaze and amuse you.

not to mention Robin Hood and his Merry Men….

The psychics of Foresight will be there doing readings and Reiki, selling my books, and enjoying the fun of a really good faire.

There are many good things that you’ll find on every day of the faire, but there are also certain things that you will only find on certain days or weekends.

This weekend is the first of three splendid weekends of the Robin Hood Springtime Festival from May 18- June 2 at 111 Lovers Lane in Guilford, Ct. Every weekend is full of the adventures of Robin Hood, music and dancing and fun, great entertainers, and amazing shopping with one of a kind products and services that you can’t find any where else…

Including  the psychics of Foresight. We’ll be there doing readings and Reiki, selling my books, and enjoying the fun of a really good faire.

On Balance…

Sometimes you go with the flow and everything come together in just the way it should.

And sometimes it doesn’t.

Sometimes things come along that throw you off balance and that interfere with doing the things that you’re here to do in life- the things that are most important to you.

And that’s where the concept of balance comes into your life…

Many folks think about balance in life as being like a pie chart. So much of your time for work, so much for family, so much for recreation and so forth; but life balance isn’t really like that. It’s more like standing on a teeter totter

When I was a child, for fun, we used to stand on the middle of the teeter totter. Your feet would go up and down and up and down and they were very rarely perfectly even. The concept of balance was a dynamic one, where you went with what was happening at the moment. Balancing things meant that you stayed in motion and everything got what it needed at any particular moment.

Life balance is like that. You can’t be counting the moments and making sure that everything gets an pre-designated amount of time. It’s more dynamic- rolling with what’s happening and seeing that you keep your eye on whats important so that it balances out over time

Last week, I was involved in a car accident. A woman wasn’t paying attention and rear ended me while I was waiting for a stop light to turn; and all of a sudden, my life was full to overflowing with all of the things you have to deal with when you’re in an accident, injured and your car is totalled. This on top of all of the other things that normally fill my time.

It threw me off balance and meant that I couldn’t do all of the things I’d wanted to (including writing this blog) but I knew that balance meant that I needed to deal with the immediate now and bring the other things back into balance with time.

And here I am, back again.

It’s almost here!

This weekend, it’s the Hudson Valley Mayfaire, May 11 and 12th at the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz, NY

There’ll be music and laughter, damsels and knights, villains and fabulous beasts. There’ll  be feats of amazing skill and of derring do. There’ll be adventure and intrigue and romance and faire food.

And the psychics of Foresight, of course. We’ll be there, doing Reiki and readings by tarot, palm, I Ching, intuition and dowsing. We’ll also be selling copies of  all four of Catherine’s books, and offering a free mini-class on doing your own readings during the noon time hour.
