It’s awhiles out yet, but I’m giving some thought to what kind of classes I want to offer at 54f6a620-f2d8-4bdc-ad37-a97aa1a18800 Changing Times, Changing Worlds conference this year. I love to teach and this is a great event to teach at, but the question is what to teach for 2017?

I’m kind of eclectic. I like to learn and to teach a wide assortment of things in divination, metaphysics, spirituality and alternative health, and my common element, which ties these things all together seems to be that I like to learn and teach things that are practical and I like to run a fun class. Because I cover a pretty wide range of skills sets, my habit for CTCW is to wait a bit, see what other classes come in and ask them what they’re light on and what kind of classes they still need more of

But it never hurts to have some ideas in mind.

On November 4-6, join Starwolf and I at Spirit Stage Changing Times, Changing Worlds, a three day ecumenical metaphysical convention held at the Radisson Hotel in Cromwell, Ct. Changing Times, Changing Worlds brings together people from all different parts of the metaphysical world for classes, panels and other metaphysical activities.

We’re not doing readings at this event- we’ll be teaching classes and being on panels.

Catch my classes Let’s do Metaphysical Science , Life Balance for Psychics, Reading for Children and A Touch of Acupressure, as well as seeing me on two panels: Got Books and Running a Metaphysical Business

And Starwolf will be teaching Everyday Carry, a class on metaphysical tools to have with you on a regular basis, as well as appearing on panels on Money & Metaphysics, Pagan Sociology, Cultural Appropriation, Sacrifice, Licensing , Elders, and Ritual Train Wrecks.

In November, Starwolf and I will once again be appearing at Changing Times Changing Worlds teaching classes and appearing on panels. That’s a good ways away, but we’re already laying our plans for it (and you should too…)

There’s one thing happening sooner about CTCW though. At past conferences, they’ve recorded some of the classes and they have recordings for sale for those of you who might be interested but might have missed them

And now, Stephanie Seger, our social media coordinator, is beginning to take parts of those classes and make them into quick videos for a CTCW YouTube channel. Kinda like those little samples they give you at the supermarket

I was honored to hear that one of my classes is one of the early ones to come out. If you’d like to get a listen, I’m posting it here

Changing Times, Changing Worlds is happening this weekend, November 13-15, in Northampton, Mass. and Foresight will be there!

Changing Times, Changing Worlds is an ecumenical metaphysical conference concerned with all things magickal, spiritual, alternative health and other metaphysical practices.

The conference includes a lot of great classes, many of them giving advanced information. It has a variety of panels, with assorted views on major metaphysical topics. It has a open healing session and vendors.

And it has a lot of interesting knowledgeable people who are fun to talk with, including the psychics of Foresight. We’ll be there teaching classes and sitting on panels. Starwolf is teaching Wyrd Science and Hexbreaking, Uncrossing and Curse Turning. I’ll be teaching Kaizen, The Practical Empath, and A Touch of Acupressure (and there’s a lot to see besides us)

Well, the ren faire season is ended for us, but our next adventure lies ahead. In a little over two weeks, Foresight will be on our way to Changing Times, Changing Worlds, an ecumenical metaphysical conference concerned with all things magickal, spiritual, alternative health and other metaphysical practices.

Changing Times, Changing Worlds runs November 13-15 at the Clarion Hotel in Northampton, Mass. More details about prices, directions and lotsa other information are available here

The conference includes lots of lovely classes, many of them beyond basic introduction levels. It has a variety of panels, where you can hear different viewpoints on major metaphysical issues. It has open healing sessions, and entertainment and an assortment of vendors

Expanding My Horizons….

For many years now, I’ve dabbled in tarot off and on. I have a worn and beloved Rider Waite deck that I’ve thrown cards for myself from when I needed insight, a different viewpoint, additional information- but when it came to tarot, I was an enthusiastic amateur. I knew how to do a lay out, but I always had to look the cards up in the cute little dogeared book that came with my deck originally.

When it came to doing readings, Starwolf was Tarot Man. I was Palmistry Woman. And that was ok.

I had a vague idea that somewhere along the line here I was going to learn how to do tarot at a professional level. Someday. I even got the Q &E version of the Rider Waite and started several times to learn the meanings of the cards, but never got very far on this.

And then, Changing Times, Changing Worlds 2014 came around

Last year, I’d had the pleasure of attending a class on Tarot (Seventy Eight of Your Closest Friends: Incorporating the Tarot in Everyday Life) by Sha Blackburn, the Loonwitch. An excellent class and one that got me thinking about moving forwards with getting better at tarot.

This year, I was able to catch two more of her excellent classes, Understanding Tarot Spreads and Creating Your Own Tarot Spread, and I discovered something kinda interesting.

I had thought that I was an amateur at tarot and had to look things up to do a reading, but as the class went along, when Sha would call out a card, at least half of the time I knew what it was saying off the top of my head and most of the time I could tell the story that it was telling together with its fellows.

Now a good deal of that is no doubt due to sitting next to Starwolf and hearing his interpretations of the various cards, but it also seemed that I had more of a feel for this than I had realized I had.

Indeed, at one point, I said “I can see that I am going to have to follow up on this more” and the teacher said “I don’t know why you haven’t already…”

Good question.

And one from a teacher and reader whose opinion I respect.

So, in the months to come, learning to be better at the Tarot is moving up my list and I look forwards to seeing where this new adventure will take me.
