It’s not news that we are living in interesting times. These times  can be stressful and frightening for people. Stressful for most people. More stressful for those who are scan0002energetically sensitive. More stressful yet for psychic empaths

So I’m going to be talking about how to deal with these interesting times.

Tomorrow night, on Wednesday  (2/15/17), I’ll be appearing from 8-9 pm on the New Normal with Tchipakkan on http://liveparanormal.com/

We’ll be talking about simple and practical ways to deal with the stressful and jangled energy of the times we’re living in. How to find and keep your own center. How to keep from being overwhelmed by the jangled or negative energy around you. How to make a difference without becoming part of the negative energy yourself

Want to catch this interview, call in with your own questions or be part of the live chat happening during every show?

If you just want to listen, you can go to the above site, click the “Listen Live and Chat” listing under the “radio-listen/chat room” heading, and click “LISTEN HERE” next to “the New Normal”.

If you want to chat, you’ll need to go to the top of the home page on the extreme right and click “Join” to set up a personal account (it’s free but takes a few moments, so you might want to do this in advance)

There are provisions for listeners to phone in with questions, too.

And, if you can’t tune in at that time, Live Paranormal.com archives its shows for your listening at a time convenient to you.

Hope you can join me on 2/15/17 from 8-9 at the New Normal on liveparanormal.com

…and throughout the year.

We’re in the midst of the holiday season, which can be a lot of fun but can also be In expectation of miraclestressful. Add on that 2016 has been a rough year for a lot of folks, and you may find yourself carrying a heap of stress

No matter which spiritual path you follow, it’s not surprising if you feel overwhelmed, cranky or downright “bah -humbug” at points. Even when we’re working hard at making merry, we all can use a break or two during the holiday season

Let me make you a holiday gift of one…

(It’s a gift that keeps giving…)

The next time you’re feeling anxious, angry, overwhelmed or down, instead of suffering, try this:

Take a deep breath, and

Look up at the ceiling.

(Repeat as needed…)

Give it a try now. Think of something that brings you down (income taxes, your least-favorite co-worker, cleaning out the fridge…) Notice how it makes you feel, where it hits you in the body and in the spirit…

Then breath deep and look up. Feel the difference?

While no substitute for Prozac, most folks find that, when they do this, they feel more positive, centered and able to cope with whatever’s going on in their lives.

Why does this work?

When  stressed, we breath short and shallow. Breathing deeply and slowly triggers a mind-body connection saying “all is well”, and actually puts us in a better place, health and emotion-wise. Looking up seems to strengthen this reaction (and when I’m facing challenges, I find looking up valuable for spiritual reasons as well…)

I like to think that we’re all hardwired with ways to change our beliefs, heal ourselves, find our centers and create our own best lives.

And, by the by, this technique is not just for the holidays, but works all year long. …

In any case, remember next time you’re feeling overwhelmed or down, breath deep and look up… and have a better day (or holiday.)

… and a lot of us are feeling the stress.

and that’s something we could all use

In the coming weeks, if you find yourself feeling depressed, stressed or afraid, please stop and take a moment for a stress release break.

It’s important to take care of yourself

… and the political campaign has been particularly rough on the spirit.577442_3521710873755_1617833526_n

At this point, it’s good to take extra care to manage your stress, nurture  yourself , regain your center and find balance, so you don’t let all of the challenging issues take over your life.

Some simple suggestions?

  • Know your body. Know what stress and anger and overwhelm feel like. Do they show themselves as pain in your neck/back/shoulders/ the symptoms of a cold or flu?
  • Listen to your body. When those symptoms start to show up, that’s the time for self care before they make you sick or take over your world
  • Disconnect. Turn off the news, Spend less time following politics on line. Screen your calls. Those stressful things will all be there after you’ve taken care of yourself (except for the ones that have been debunked by then- less to worry about! a bonus!)
  • Know the things that make you feel good, feel safe or feel nurtured. Comfort food. Music. A favorite book. A movie that reminds you that there is good in the world. Know the things that will help you comeback to center, keep them available for convenient use and do them when you start to feel like it’s all too much.
  • Meditate. There are lots of different ways to do this, but they all help to calm racing thoughts and stress and bring us back into balance.

The important thing in these tumultuous times is to make sure to take some time to take care of yourself. In that way, you’re more likely to stay happy and healthy in body, mind and spirit.

Well, we’re well into the holiday season now- a time for love and joy and peace on earth, a time for shopping and wrapping and loving your fellow man.

There’s a lot of stuff that goes into the joy of the holiday season, and even if you’re having the best holidays ever, there’s still the potential for some stress.

Fear not.

Fortunately, we’ve got something that can help you with stress so that you can get on with the joy part.

Let me make you an early holiday gift of one…

(It’s a gift that keeps giving…)

The next time you’re feeling anxious, angry, overwhelmed or down, instead of suffering, try this:

Take a deep breath, and

Look up at the ceiling.

(Repeat as needed…)

Give it a try now. Think of something that brings you down (income taxes, your least-favorite co-worker, cleaning out the fridge,…). Notice how it makes you feel, where it hits you in the body and in the spirit…

Then breath deep and look up. Feel the difference?

While it’s no substitute for Prozaac, most people find that when they do this, they feel more positive, centered and able to cope with whatever’s going on in their lives.

Why’s this work?

When we’re stressed, we breath in a short and shallow way. Breathing deeply and slowly triggers a mind-body connection saying “all is well”, and actually puts us in a better place, health and emotion-wise. Looking up seems to strengthen this reaction ( and when I’m facing challenges, I find looking up valuable for spiritual reasons as well…).

I like to think that we’re all hardwired with ways to change our beliefs, heal ourselves, find our centers and create our own best lives.

And, by the by, this technique is not just for the holidays, but works all year long. …

In any case, remember next time you’re feeling overwhelmed or down, breath deep and look up… and have a better day (or holiday).

PS  Just a thought- don’t do this in front of your bossy aunt  Margaret, your boss or any other person that is contributing to stress you’re feeling. They will surely take it the wrong way and this is the path to more stress…
