As I have said before Herkimer Diamonds are perhaps the most generally useful crystals you can have.
Another use for them is re-charging and restoring blocked or sluggish Chakras. These are the energy centers located along the centerline of the body.
Simply place the Herkimer on the Chakra. Wait 10-15 min., then recheck the Chakra. If it is still sluggish, re-apply the Herkimer for another 10-15 min.

Reconciling Different Paths – the Elephant and the Blind Men

In my last post, I started by talking about my own spiritual path as a metaphysical Christian and acknowledging that it is not the right path for everyone.

For instance, I see God as male, because I was raised that way. I’m good with that and I don’t feel less or imperfect because I see him as male, and I’m female.

But that’s not necessarily true for everyone. The person who’s had bad experiences with men, or with fathers, or the woman who feels closer to a Deity of her own gender is not necessarily going to have their best spiritual experience on the path that I am on.

I also believe that “male” or “female” are fairly arbitrary labels when it comes to God. I believe that God is too big to be crammed into a little pigeonhole like “male” or “female”, and that images such as that are only ways for me to fit the concept of an infinite Being into my finite mind.

There’s a story about six blind men and an elephant.

The first man touches the elephant’s trunk and says “An elephant is like a snake.”

The second man touches the elephant’s leg and says “An elephant is like a tree.”

The third man touches the elephant’s side and says “An elephant is like a wall.”

The fourth man touches the elephant’s tail and says “An elephant is like a rope.”

The fifth man touches the elephant’s tusk and says “An elephant is like a spear.”

And the last man touches the elephant’s forehead and says “An elephant is like a boulder.”

And they were all right, as far as they could tell.

I believe that many of us are like the blind men and the elephant. We connect with God and our perception is real and true, but we are only able to perceive part of that infinite Being.

And that’s why there are many spiritual paths, each legitimate in its own fashion as long as it is a good match for the person who is living it.

The good thing is that God reaches out to folks in different ways. Since God is Infinite, and not limited by considerations such as gender, He can and does reach out to meet each person where they need Him, whether as God, Goddess, Spirit, or with other Faces.

That’s why there are Christians and Jews and Buddhists and Muslims and pagans and heathens and a myriad of other paths out there.

Because Spirit is there for those who need it….

Lets start this discussion of reconciling the differences in the paths of metaphysics, paganism and Christianity with where I’m coming from, so you’ve got a frame of reference here.

As some of you may know, I’m a metaphysical Christian. Starwolf is a Wiccan, neopagan shaman. And we’ve got friends and associates that cover a range of beliefs from conservative faiths to atheists, agnostics and seekers.

So we get exposed to a pretty wide range of people’s spiritual paths here at Foresight Central.

I’m a Christian, a follower of Christ. I was raised on the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, to see God as the perfect Father, a loving male presence. I have a strong and caring relationship with God and Jesus that has carried and sustained me through good times and challenging ones. My spiritual path is part of who I am, helping me to do the right things and hold true to what I’m here to do.

I’m fortunate . My spiritual path has worked well for me, and, while it has evolved and grown just as I have, I’d say that this is the spiritual path that will be with me for the rest of my life.

I want to acknowledge however that my path is certainly not the perfect path for everyone.

If you’ve been here for a bit, you may be aware that we not only post according to what’s speaking to us at the moment, but also take requests for post topics and answer questions posed to us. I had a query the other day from a new subscriber who was interested in the question of reconciling the differences between metaphysics, Paganism and Christianity, for those people who embrace mutiple paths.

I’m glad to have this request. I’m glad to write on this topic. But I have to keep in mind that this is a topic that can get a bit tricky.

Religion can be a very sensitive subject. From what I’ve seen, religion and politics are the two topics most generally likely to create conversational conflict between folks. But religion and spirituality is also a very important area for most of us

So I’m going to talk religion and spirituality for a bit.

This is just a headsup for those of you who get queasy or uneasy at the concept. (It’s not everybody’s cuppa tea… nor does it have to be). If you fall into this particular group, feel free to skip these posts and come back for the ones on crystals, self-improvement and where to catch Foresight next…

If, on the other hand, you are one of the people who finds that this is a topic that is interesting or important to you, I’d invite you to walk with me on this question. I’d also invite your comments and opinions on the subject.

Because this is a sensitive subject, I’m going to encourage those of you who comment to choose your words carefully, but we would love to hear where you stand on this subject.

One of the most useful aspects of Herkimers is their ability to not only generate massive amounts of energy in relation to their size, but to store and transmit energy from other sources, i. e. other crystals, Reiki, or the sun. This makes them useful batteries for Healers, inventors, and Mystics.
