well….

we seem to have finally entered spring….

(*freezes, looks quickly around in all directions for snow, then sighs in relief*)

and its time for spring cleaning.

But that’s not just about shaking out the snow boots, putting away the shovels for another year and getting some fresh air flowing through a house that’s been shut up for the winter. Did you know that you can put an energetic spin on spring cleaning, so that you not only have a cleaner house but also clear your energy and set it to attract new and better things into your life?

Simple stuff. As you clean and get rid of things( like dust bunnies) that you don’t need anymore, you also set an intention that, as you clear things you no longer need out of your house, you make room for things that suit you better to come into your life. An “intention” is just a metaphysical term for a goal that is use to move energy in the direction that you want it to go, and, by combining such an intention with the act of spring cleaning, you turn a basic chore into a technique for manifesting something better (one that has roots going back to antiquity)

So, throw open those windows, clean those floors or do a  start of the year declutter and let the power of intention bring you a springtime bonus with your housecleaning.

(PS You could also tie your springcleaning intentions into your personal goals – see “Time for New Beginnings”)

A reporter, researching an article on tatoos, was looking through a book of flashes, examples of what images were available. On one page, he was surprised and a bit shocked to see a large ornate design that prominently featured the words  “Born to Lose” .

The reporter turned to the tatoo artist, asking him “What kind of person would get a tatoo like that?…”

“One who had it tatooed first on his mind long before before I touched his skin…” said the artist….

…..

So, what do you have tatooed on your mind?

Was reading a few blogs the other day, and ran across one where the blogger was talking about the movie “Inception” and the nature of dreams. He noted that, at one point, during a gun battle, DiCaprio’s gun isn’t having the desired impact.  In response, his colleague tells him to use a little imagination, and as an example, he pulls out…a somewhat bigger gun.

The blogger felt that was anticlimactic , because, with a dream, you could make almost anything happen.

Fair enough, that.

But it got me thinking….

What could you do if your mind didn’t tell you that it wasn’t possible?

I’d say that the bigger gun mentally worked for the agent in the movie because it was within his context of what  was actually possible. In dreams, you could do anything but, for many people, something that was too far out of their mental construct of possible would trigger mental resistance and block the whole arrangement

So he could accept a bigger gun, and there it was…

We see the same thing in the energywork of manifestation. Theoretically, anything is equally possible, and it’s as easy to manifest a diamond as a parking space, but most folks have mental limits that see the parking space as easy and the diamond as difficult.

And so they block the bigger item from coming into their lives.

This is why you see a lot of people who use the Law of Attraction to get good parking spaces, but very few lottery wins.

In the movie “the Matrix”,

  • The average mind accepts “reasonable” limits.
  •  The rebels are standouts because they accept as possible skills that reach the extraordinary end of normal human possibility.
  • The “Smiths” are deadly because they go beyond the limits of “normal” human possibility, but still follow natural limits.
  •  Neo is extraordinary, because, for him there are no limits…

And so, Neo can fly……

Food for thought.

What are your limits?

And, could you fly?….

We’ve talked about pursuing our dreams and letting our life missions give power to our goals…

We’ve talked about the Dragons of Resistance and how Kaizen can be our friend

We’ve talked about dreaming Big and about feeling like we’re too small to accomplish anything…

We’re on our way!

Now, has anyone besides me noticed that I talk about writing your goals down a lot…?

Well, there’s a reason for that.

There’s been quite a lot of studies on how people succeed or fail, how they achieve their goals or no, on how they accomplish brilliant, impossible amazing things.

People no different than you and me.

And you know one thing they found? They found that writing down what you want to achieve makes a difference in quite a number of ways.

  • They found that high school students who wrote down goals were more likely to complete school, end up with high paying jobs, and achieve their dreams.
  • They found that people who wrote down affirmations and posted them around where they saw them frequently (by the bathroom mirror, over the dressing table, on the car dashboard) were more likely to be able to break out of destructive beliefs and changed to more positive beliefs more easily;
  • They found that people who wrote an affirmation a thousand times were able to more easily clear out a destructive habit and reprogram a better one (ever wonder why your teacher made you write on the board?…)
  • They found that people who wrote down a list of things that they wanted to do were more likely to accomplish them even if they put the list away and don’t look at it…

Wow…

And all it took was a few moments and a little ink.

Have you thought about writing down what you want to achieve next?…

More on the way…

Many New Years’ resolutions are based on good intentions or trying to live up to what other people tell us we should want to do. We’re more than half way through January, and this is the point in time when many of such resolutions start to unravel.

Why is that?

For most of us, change (such as what we’re trying to accomplish with resolutions) is hard. It’s even harder when the change is something that (deep down) is not as motivating to us as not changing.

So, for many folks, there are two things that motivate us to true, long range change –

Pain….

or

Following your Life Mission.

Want to build resolutions or goals with staying power?

Then you might want to be looking to your Life Mission for ideas….

As you may have heard me say before, I believe that everybody has a Life Mission. Something that he or she brings to the party of Life that no one else can bring.

And you know your Life Mission when you find it, because it’s about what sings in your soul.

This doesn’t mean that goals and changes connected with our Life Mission are always easy.

It does mean that goals based on the expectations of others tend to fall apart. And that goals that move us towards our own personal Life Missions have power and strength and energy and are more likely to come to fruition.

So, knowing that, if you want real change, you need to give ourself a good motivation to make things happen.

And if the choice is between pain and my true calling, I know which I’ll chose…
