As many of you may know, Starwolf and I are currently working at the Connecticut Renaissance Faire on the weekends ( 4 more weekends for any of you who may want to come out and join us…)

When you work at a renaissance faire, you meet a lot of interesting people and see a lot of interesting things, This year, we’ve had the rare treat of seeing the Lords of Adventure show on a stage at the end of our lane. The Lords of Adventure are Jack Bold and Roger Awesome, who do a show combining combat, comedy and philosophy. Their premise starts with the idea that you can chose to be a hero or be a victim by accident.

Cool thought. That’s pretty deep for a knockabout comedy act.

I’d encourage you to come to the faire and catch their show. I’ve enjoyed watching them work, and I think that you’d like them too.

But, even more than the show, I was fascinated by what went on between shows.

The new site is wonderful, but the footing is largely gravel. We noticed a ma in a wheelchair down the lane having a hard time getting anywhere. Starwolf got up to go out and ask him if he wanted some help- but before he got out of the tent, along came Jack Bold.

In the most flamboyant way possible, Jack swooped down on the man in the wheel chair, instantly made friends, asked if he wanted help and then declared that they were off on another adventure, and dashed away with him in the direction the man wanted to go.

Jack not only helped him but also turned it into a theatrical adventure that the man in the wheelchair became part of.

When I spoke to him later, he told me modestly that he’d seen that visitor having problems, and, having asked permission, made it his business to help each time he saw him bogged down. Jack respected the man’ s autonomy by asking permission, and then did everything he could to make his day special.

Jack Bold is my hero. He practiced compassion- and he brought the adventure, too.

And that make me think

In my life, every day, how can I practice compassion?

and how can I bring the adventure?

It’s Pets weekend, weekend two of The Connecticut Renaissance Faire . All pets are welcome (admission for your pets is only $5) and we’ve got renaissance pet fun galore

Sunday is the Paws-itively Fun Dog Trick contest
and on both Saturday and Sunday, you can march with your pet in the midday parade, and grab some doggy affection at the “Smooch a Pooch” booth

The Annual Connecticut Renaissance Faire runs for five amazing weekends on Sept 21, 22, 28, 29, Oct 5, 6, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 from 10:30- 6 at it’s new site at 14 Stott Ave. in Norwich, Ct.

New home, new story. Prepare for the adventure and intrigue of the court of King Henry the VIII.

There’ll be music and laughter, damsels and knights, villains and fabulous beasts. There’ll be feats of amazing skill and of derring do. There’ll be adventure and intrigue and romance and turkey legs.

And the psychics of Foresight, of course.

And, hopefully, there’ll be you.

There are lots of lovely experiences that will be there every weekend, but there are also different special events that only happen on one weekend or one day, so you’ll want to check the website for the festival to decide when you want to come. (There’s so many interesting options, you may need to come more than once…)

I’m working hard on my fifth book- the book for this year. My original topic proved to require more meditation before it was ready to put into print so I’ve changed to an alternative topic.

My book for 2013 will be on dream work – how to remember your dreams, how to interpret your dreams, how to use your dreams to be more creative and to access your own natural psychic ability and more.

As has been true for the last 3 years, my target deadline to have the finished book in my hand is by the Changing Times, Changing Worlds conference, this year on November 8-10 in Cromwell , Ct. By making this conference my deadline, it gives me incentive to write edit and pull my books together. In addition, C.T.C.W. lets me teach a class on my book of the year and sell it at their author’s table, so it’s really good to bring my books together for this conference.

Which brings us to where we are now.

I have been told that I am welcome to teach a class at C.T.C.W. on the topic of my book. To make this class as responsive to students as possible, I’d like to hear from you.

What kind of things would you like to learn in a class on working with your dreams?
