Friday, Saturday and Sunday last, Starwolf and I had one last whirlwind weekend at the Changing Times, Changing Worlds convention as speakers, panelists, and general creators of interesting events , as well as my stint as a visiting author.
We’ve not only seen the end of the conference, but also the end of one of the busy periods in our business.
I’m still writing and we’ve got the holiday preparations to do, but overall things are somewhat slowed down from the frantic pace that it’s had for the last few months.
It’s kinda like the cycles of the year. The world itself has periods of new beginnings, growth, frantic activity and harvest, as well as more quiet times for peace and introspection.
It’s time to take a deep breath and to rest, of course. But it’s also time to think about what we’re going to do next.
This is the time to think about what events we wish to appear at next year. This is the time to think about what classes we want to teach next at shops and conventions like Changing Times, Changing Worlds. This is the time to mull over the topic of the book that I will write next year, and start doing a little research.
We’re beginning to think about this.
