When climbing the ladder of sucess,
it’s important to be sure that your ladder is leaning against the right wall….
We’re here at the beginning of a brand new beautiful year.
Many of us have big plans for this year. Many of us have set great resolutions.
- Get in shape;
- Lose weight;
- Find love;
- A better job;
- Make more money;
And many of our resolutions will fall away into nothing by mid-January
What’s up with that?
One of the biggest problems with New Year’s resolutions is that many times we’re picking goals that we think we should want, as opposed to what’s really important to us.
And our heart knows what we really want. Our heart isn’t really in those “oughta” goals.
And so, life happens. things come up. And somehow we never do the work we need to make those resolutions a reality.
That’s a path for failure. So lets not go there.
Just like we did last year, I’m going to ask you to do a little exercise to get in touch with what you really want.
Take a moment…
Close your eyes and take a deep breath…
And visualize for a moment who you’d like to be at the end of the year….
………………………………………………………………………………………………
Then open your eyes and write down what popped up.
Do any of your present goals send you in that direction?
Then you may need more or different goals.
Chose the goals that speak to your life mission
And work your dreams….
And have a beautiful, successful 2012

So, start making a list of things you want! Maybe you always wanted to take an art class? Maybe you wanted to travel to a specific place, or learn another language. The sky is the limit when it comes to your dreams. If you are planning on really improving your life because you are feeling defeated, depressed or miserable, you may want to start with things that would have an immediate impact on your self-esteem. Set reasonable goals, for example, losing 5 lbs. within a month, signing up with a gym, looking for a new job, etc. Anything that allows you to actively take a step further towards the person you want to be, while making you feel good about the fact that you are taking action, is a worthwhile activity to engage in.
Knowing where you relly want to go is the first step to getting there
