One final, rare type of herkimer is the “smokey herkimer”. Found occasionally in Herkimer, N.Y. and in the 4 Corners region of the Southwest, they combine the energy production of a herkimer with the protective qualities of smokey quartz. In effect, the ultimate protective stone.
