Rather late in posting today. Sorry, folks. I try to be reliable

I’m huddled here right now over the keyboard to my computer, writing this post as I print out the final handouts for my classes at Changing Times, Changing Worlds (and remembering how much two sided handouts are when you must do them manually …)

This year at the convention, I’ve ended up on three panels, doing a booksigning and running a totally amateur tea leaf reading experience , as well as teaching five classes. That and the fact that I hope to catch other people’s classes and panels, as well as meet some old friends and make some new ones means that I’m going to be a busy little Fairy Godmother.

Five classes- and three of them are brand new for this year’s con. I’m also remembering why its good to be teaching new classes and writing about new things. They say that, if you want to really learn something, teach it. My classes are all on things that I know, but, in setting them up to teach them, I’m seeing things about them I hadn’t seen before and I’m learning new dimensions of them.

Worth considering.

We’ve been talking about obstacles in the path to your Dreams – how some are there to strengthen us and test our resolve and others are there to tell us that we are on the wrong path (whether heading towards the wrong dream or taking the wrong route to get there.)

And interestingly, as we’ve been doing so, life has been imitating art for me…

As many of you who come here know, I’ve been working on self publishing my first book “Adventures in Palmistry”.

I’d been noodling around on it- tweaking words, editing and re-editing, putting in a lot of effort but not really moving forwards.

I have two friends who are runnning their first convention this coming weekend ( Changing Times, Changing Worlds). Starwolf and I are going to be teaching at this convention.

I saw my friend at an event at the beginning of the summer.

“It’s a pity that you can’t have your book out by the convention” she said.

And suddenly, a little voice in my head said “You just watch me….”

I buckled down hard on this. I stopped playing at editing, and really worked at it. And I had my manuscript ready to go by the end of July ( just after my birthday….).

It seemed like I had plenty of time…

But once I got into the self- publishing process, problems started to crop up.

New technological tasks I needed to learn (and I am not terribly tech savvy..),

Problems with formatting and transferring into a PDF,

Delays in getting information,

Rewrites to fit the publication criteria,

And though it all, the clock kept ticking……

………….

Each time I finished a step, I felt the enomrmous relief “There, that’s finally done!”

Every time another problem popped up, my heart sank, my stomach churned and I felt “Oh no, not again…”

At many times during this process, I even questioned whether I’d even get the book finished and published in time for Changing Times, Changing Worlds….

And here’s the useful point-

Every step along the way, there was a certain amount of fear and apprehension (Will I finish on time?…)

And every step, after that inital flash, I felt my spirit say “This won’t stop us!…”

And I buckled down once more.

One way to tell that these challenges were here to test my resolve was that “Oh, no you didn’t…” response.

I’m pleased to announce that “Adventures in Palmistry” has officially been published on Lulu.com.

And I have my first book signing at Changing Times, Changing Worlds this very weekend.

We’re six days out from the first Changing Times, Changing Worlds convention on November 12- 14 in Northampton, Mass.

This is a conference for Wiccans, pagans, metaphysical Christians, Reiki practitioners, alternative health people, energy workers, New Age folk, dowsers and all of us out in the alternative areas of metaphysics, spirituality, energy and health, and those of us who are curious about these things.

Hi folks,

Having finished Renn faire season(for now…), I’m now getting ready for a conference on November 12-14 called Changing Times, Changing Worlds . Changing Times, Changing Worlds is an ecumenical, esoteric, metaphysical(say that three times fast …) gathering. aimed at bringing together the people of differnet metaphysical backgrounds so we can learn from each other and form a better community. If that sounds like the kind of thing you’d like, check it out and see if it’s for you

Starwolf and I are going to be teaching an assortment of classes at CTCW, and I’m in the process of pulling things togther now. And this is where I could really use your help….

In response to a need expressed while planning this conference, one of the classes I’m going to be teaching is a quick 50 minute basics class on accupressure for people attending weekend conferences in hotels. In that time, I’m thinking that I’ll be able to teach accupressure groundwork and how to press points for 3, and possibly 4 isssues.

So far, the two issues that are definites are sinus/migranes/headaches and a set of points that gives you an instant burst of energy (kinda an accupressure “cup of coffee” without the post caffeine “slump”…)

So that leaves 1, and possibly two issues up for grabs…

I’d really like to know – if you were going to a weekend conference in a hotel, what would you like in your accupressure bag of tricks?

Your input much appreciated. I’ll be looking for it….

Meanwhile, I’ll be planning more classes for CTCW. Because it’s fun to share the things that make my life better with folks, so they can make their lives better too….

Hi folks

I’m in the process of planning my classes for the Changing Times, Changing Worlds conference in Northampton, Mass in mid-November (by the by, this looks to be an excellent conference. You may want to attend this. Know I did…)

Anyway, one of the classes I’ll be teaching is an overview of ways of releasing negative beliefs.

As we’ve often discussed here, your words, your beliefs, your focus tend to shape the nature of reality around us. And many of us have negative or dysfunctional beliefs that block our ability to manifest the reality we’d like..

Beliefs like -

“Rich people are greedy, and nobody likes them.”…

“All of the good ones are taken.”…

“To be successful in your art, you have to suffer.”…

You know. The little time bombs of the unconscious that keep us enslaved to unhappy lives.

Now, if you’ve been reading me, you know I’m really into different ways of manifesting good things in life.

So it should be no surprise to hear that I’ve also made a practice of studying ways to defuse these little time bombs.

And that’s one thing I’m going to be teaching.

I’ve got a lot of material on this, and a finite amount of teaching time; so in the interest of giving folks the best class possible, I’d like to reach out to the folks here -
